College OrganizationCollege Organizational StructureThe College is organized around three major administrative units, each of which is led by a Vice President who reports directly to the President:
Academic Affairs Unit – Executive Vice President/Chief Academic Officer Charged with oversight of all academic and training programs including both credit (Curriculum) and non-credit (Continuing Education) offerings, the Executive Vice President/Chief Academic Officer assures that the academic and educational support programs and services are of highest quality and standards.
Administrative Services Unit – Vice President Charged with oversight of the financial, human relations, technology, auxiliary and physical plant operations, the Vice President assures the finance, business, personnel services and technology services and overall facility operations are of highest quality and standards.
Student Services Unit – Vice President Charged with oversight for admissions, advisement, financial aid, registration/records, career resources, security, student life, and marketing/public information, the Vice President assures that all student support services are of highest quality and standards. The Vice President serves as a liaison between the President and all staff in the Student Services Unit.
Executive Leadership TeamThe Executive Leadership Team serves as the College’s senior-level administrative team and includes the College President, who serves as convener, and the four Vice Presidents.
The Executive Leadership Team considers and addresses College-wide issues and decisions; develops agenda items, including Board of Trustee Policy recommendations, for Board meetings; reviews and resolves major financial and human resource allocations and Operations Policy/Procedures; and considers leadership and support collaborative matters as presented by the College President. Other faculty and staff are invited to participate in Team meetings from time-to-time to present and consider issues. The Team meets monthly or as called by the President.
President’s CabinetThe President’s Cabinet consists of the College President, who serves as convener, the four Vice Presidents and the four Academic Deans along with two faculty representatives, two staff representatives, the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Director of Research and Planning and the Executive Assistant to the President.
The President’s Cabinet functions as a decision-recommending body to address and assist with matters of operations, planning and budgeting while serving to enhance communications within the College and community respecting Units, Learning Centers and Departments; provides leadership and support for strategic priorities and goal accomplishment; and analyzes information/data reports that lead to new or improved processes and systems in support of organizational and academic excellence, service and leadership. The Cabinet meets monthly or as called by the President.
Our Identity 2011-12The Our Identity - (pdf) document was created to express the essence of what the College is about as an organization, including how the College is structured, how decisions are made and other characteristics that distinguish this as an organization. The document contributes to our commitment to operate with transparency and mutual respect as hallmarks of our organization. To be sure, that organizational identity is under constant review and refinement as the needs of the organization change along with the environment and the rules and policies under which Craven Community College is created and governed.
