Advising Mission Statement

At Craven Community College, the advising process is a collaborative process between professional and faculty advisors that is designed to give students clarity on their academic direction and educational goals.

Our professional academic advising staff is located in the One Stop Center (Student Center Room 105) which is the central location for prospective, new, and continuing students. The advisors are in place to provide timely and accurate information. We welcome you to stop by and see us at any time!

Guiding principles:

• Effective advising can be a conclusive role in student development.
• Professional advisors and students should have mutual respect for each other.
• Professional advisors should encourage student to use the available technology that is provided by the college to their benefit.
• Professional advisors should foster students to seek various opportunities and expand their educational experiences while enrolled at the college.
