Blackboard Information Overview

Courses become active and are available for students on the first day of class. However, you must allow 24 hours from the time you pay for your courses to see your online classes (if you pay on or after the first day of class).

Visit the Academic Calendar to determine when the first day of class is for the semester.

How do I log into Blackboard?

Visit and bookmark the Web site http://nclc.blackboard.com

Make sure that the Welcome tab is selected.

What is my username?

Student usernames are constructed using names as shown on the College Registration System. Refer to computer generated receipts or registration forms to refresh your memory on the name you provided when you enrolled at Craven.

What will be your student username?

Curriculum classes will have usernames created by using crav-first name.last name.
For example, if a student takes a curriculum class and his name is John P. Doe, his username would be: crav-john.doe
NOTE: your login will have "crav" with a "-" before your first name and a period "." between your first name and last name.
If you try to login and cannot login after the first three days of class, contact your instructor to verify your exact username. There may be two people with the same first and last names. Your instructor can advise you if this occurs.

What is my password?

Your password will be the 2 digit month and 2 digit day and last 2 digits year of your birth date.

Once I have logged into Blackboard, where are my courses?

Make sure that the Craven Home tab is selected AFTER YOU LOG IN! You will see all of your available courses listed under the Craven Home tab.

How soon may I log into Blackboard?

By the first day of classes. Blackboard administrators add your username and enroll you in your Distance Education classes. The Distance Education staff works diligently to set your classes up and enroll you in each of your classes as quickly as possible.

I am logged into Blackboard and do not see ALL my classes?

Classes will be visible by 8am on the first day of the semester, regardless of when you registered for the course (provided that it has been at least 24 hours since you paid for your course)!

I still need assistance to log into Blackboard, what do I do?

If you cannot login to Blackboard OR you are logged in and do not see your NEW class links contact the Online Help Desk at https://d2.parature.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=8277.
