Entrepreneur Academy - Evenings Classical Business Training - NB

A 30-hour seminar focused on opening your own business, writing a business plan, receiving one-on-one business counseling and applying for business funding. Plenty of guest speakers from agencies, banks and other professional organizations to help you get started. Nothing to pack for this trip, just bring yourself, your ideas and an open mind.

Media Marketing Workshop - Evening - NB

Hear from a TV marketing professional about using a new and economic television advertising approach to promote your business and improve sales. The BNC channel will also bring on experts licensing and exporting to support a broader local, national and international business base. This is a national workshop and can be attended online for those who prefer to tune in.

Business Loan Workshop

Learn about the North Carolina Small Business Commission and their efforts to provide elevated services through community colleges, bringing state resources to small business as they struggle to recover. Business owners will be educated on necessary documentation for acquiring Business and SBA guaranteed loans. Sustainable Gardening - NB

Learn how to grow a garden for home or profit. Learn how to establish a sustainable garden and then work with a group of community gardeners from prior classes. You can learn gardening concepts from local gardening organizations, Department of Health, Tryon Palace Gardens, NCSU Cooperative Extension, Craven County and others. Learn the basics of gardening and put your knowledge to work turning soil in a waiting community garden. Classes are planned continuously from August through December 2010. A graduate of Howard University with a Bachelors degree in journalism, Carletta Waddler is a dynamic and compelling speaker with experience in marketing, and green business concepts. Hear about How to Green and Market Your Business, and Preparing for Green Job Opportunities and the Certifications needed. What is Green?  What Does It Mean to my Organization or Business? This seminar deals with the basics, including terminology and resources.  Where do you begin and what resources do you need from outside sources and your in-house team.
