Business AdministrationProgram DescriptionCraven Community College’s Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration is designed to introduce students to the various aspects of the free enterprise system. Students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions and processes and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy. Course work in the 74 SHC program includes business concepts such as accounting, business law, economics, management and marketing. The application of the core concepts is further developed through the study of computer applications, communication, and team building. Students have an opportunity to strengthen interpersonal and conceptual skills such as motivation, performance appraisal, decision making and problem solving. Students may complete the program online, as well as in traditional face-to-face formats. Students seeking careers in general management or in banking and production firms will be able to learn the basics of those fields through Craven Community College's business administration options. Each two-year, associate degree program includes study in management, marketing, business law, and accounting, and there are additional major courses that focus more on the work requirements of entry-level positions within the banking and finance or operations management concentrations.
